Blog faqs for mastergriffin's black belt blog

Q – Do I have to worry about my kids using Martial Arts at their school?
A – No. We talk about using our Martial Arts skills responsibly every class. In 25 plus years of teaching martial arts, GMA has never had a problem with children abusing their skills. Master Griffin also teaches in some of the Grade schools in the area and the children are very focused and respectful of the Martial arts. Master Griffin has taught at Harvest Prep, LoveWorks Visual Arts academy, Minneapolis Urban League Elementary, Hamline University, University of St. Thomas, Hospitality House.

Q – Is Martial Arts expensive?
A – Griffin Martial Arts is committed to providing the best quality Group Lesson Training available, yet keeping the classes affordable. GMA is much less than other “lesson activities” like a Personal Trainer, Horse back riding, or gymnastics. We also have a Free Saturday Community Club program with FREE MARTIAL ARTS LESSONS WITH A PURCHASE OF A $49 UNIFORM from 9am-10am.

Q – What ages do you teach?
A – We start children at 2 years of age, in our Tiny Tigers and we have adults in their 60's. We have had students in their 50”s reach their black belt at Griffin Martial Arts.

Q - Will your Martial Arts program help my child with his/her confidence and self-esteem?
A - Yes. Child psychologists tell us that the best way to develop positive self-esteem in kids is to have them in activities that work toward goals. And when they work hard and achieve those goals, they should be rewarded for that achievement. That is exactly what our innovative Belt Ranking System program has been designed to do. The confidence and life lessons they learn in our program will then transfer to academics, other sports and activities.
several people in their 50's earn Black Belts.

Q – Will kids and adults be in the same classes?
A-1 – No. While classes are very beneficial to both adults and children, the way you teach children is different from the way you teach adults. All of our classes are designed to be age appropriate. We Split up the material for the different age groups.
A-2 – Yes. While we have tiny tot classes, we have FAMILY Martial arts classes for the entire family. We structure the format for the parent to be a coach/helper for their Childs learning

Q - How many days per week do students attend?
A – Our average Tae-kwon-do student attends 1 day per week, although some come 3 days per week and some of the KardioArts students come 5 classes per week.
Q – How many students are in each class?
A – On average we try to have a teacher to student ratio of one teacher to about min. about 6 max 24 students with Assistant Instructors. (Or less than 1/3 of the teacher / student ratio of public school classrooms.)

Q – Do I have to be in good shape before I start your classes?
A – No. Our beginner program starts at a basic fitness level and we work you into better shape at your own pace.

Q – Which is better for working out – Martial Arts or kickboxing?
A – We teach both Martial Arts and KardioArts kickboxing and have testimonials that rave about both programs. Both will burn fat, build muscle strength, develop cardio fitness, and make you look and feel great.. Master Griffin created KardioArts Kickboxing which blends boxing, kickboxing, karate, hi-energy music, weight-training, resistance bands and fun. The best way to find the answer is to try our Gma Basic Kickboxing 12 week course or our twelve week tae-kwon-do program where you can try them both and decide for yourself. Call us at 612-408-3626
